We met the designer Vinzenz Trenkle for an interview
"When developing new products, I look for optimal combinations of innovation and aesthetics that meet the demands of functionality. I like to take a pragmatic and unconventional approach to allow myself all possible solutions."
Basel-based Vinzenz Trenkle is considered an expert in the field of functional and aesthetic product development.
He has made a name for himself particularly in the point-of-sales sector, where he develops solutions for the product presentation of cosmetics, watches, jewelry, etc. and implements them accordingly.
Thanks to his fascination for technology, his open mind and his inexhaustible creativity, the self-taught designer (re)finds clever and functional solutions again and again.
Tell us something about yourself: Who are you? How would you describe yourself?
My name is Vinzenz Trenkle, I was born in Switzerland and have loved tinkering since I was very young. My passion for cars and technology is still strong today. Certainly, I am not a showman, I prefer to listen and implement.
What inspires you?
There's inspiration around every corner. You just have to look!
How did you get into design?
Through my company form.in GmbH (www.form-in.com), which I built up 30 years ago. Customers had wishes and I had to make the best out of them.
What demands do you place on a product?
A product should be considered holistically. From my many years of experience with customers, the technology and often that certain something falls by the wayside. I create products that work and look good at the same time!
Thank you, Vinzenz, for your time and the exciting insight.
