FINK is a product design agency based in Basel - founded by Alain Wipf, Elias Kopp and Manuel Jost. Their focus is on their individual strengths as designers. They are young, curious, and think independently.
Their focus is sustainability and circular design for products / concepts of any kind.
Tell us something about yourselves: Who are you? How would you describe yourselves?
We are FINK, a young design agency specialized in designing sustainable and circular products. We are passionate makers, with different basic education. As carpenters, designers and interior decorators, metal, wood and textile flow through our veins.
How did you come to design?
The desire to implement our own ideas and make things better is a driving force that motivates us all. We met during our studies in Basel. By working together on projects during our studies, our agency came into being.
What is especially important to you when choosing colors and materials?
Sustainability and function of the material are always in focus.
Colors are carefully selected, tested and defined with a lot of passion.
How would you describe your creative process?
We don't see design as surface maintenance, but as a method to reshape the future. For this reason, concept work is very important to our team. First of all, the concept has to be right, then the form usually results almost by itself.
What does design mean to you?
Design means responsibility. We want to take on this responsibility for future generations and for our own. We work for a revolutionized life cycle of the products we design. We believe that sustainability starts with the design.
